Mont Blanc as seen from the Dent de Vaulion; some of the Alpes in winter.
(left) Note that the peak of Mont Blanc is roughly three times above the peak on
which I was standing to take this photo, and that I was looking across the fog
covering Lac Leman. This phenomenon is known as the "sea of fog."
(right) This photo comes from an all-day train trip around southwestern Switzerland.
I was on trains from about 6:40am until 6:30pm, with an unintentional one-hour
stop in Luzern.
Greg and I near the summit of Rochers-de-Naye, a 2042m (6700ft) peak above Montreux.
To get to the top, we hiked a vertical mile.
A hike to the Point de Cray (almost) near Gruyeres. The ridge at the top,
as the fog closed in (fortunately, on the side on which we ascended).
